Be A Better You

I haven’t blogged much about running lately because the truth is I’m just in a rut with it. The fun isn’t there as much as it was. I could list reasons why I think that is but there really isn’t any reasons other than I’m tired and need something else at the moment. I still run but it is not my main focus right now.

I believe strongly in good health and exercise and I am still very active. I’ve switched it up a bit and started a cardio kickboxing class that I have been in now for 7 weeks and have 5 more weeks to go. I love it! So while I’m only getting 15 miles in most weeks I’m probably in the best shape I’ve been in a very long time. It’s nice to switch things up as well. I mean no matter how much you enjoy a hobby you can get tired of the same thing all the time.

I also want to focus more on other things that have been put on the back burner lately. Like my finances, which I will not discuss here 😳. But also myself. I’m past due on focusing on me for a while. That means me taking a step back from things and growing. I have so many dreams and goals in my head that I want to make happen but always think that I can’t. That I’m not capable of doing anything more than I am right now. We all feel like we can and need to be better. And we are definitely a work in progress. So I want to share a pin I found on Pinterest that I really liked.

I want you to take today and really reflect on you. What you want to change? How you need to grow? How can you make everyday better for you?

I love the idea of having a journal and every year I get one or two cool ones and swear this year I’m going to journal everyday. I do it for a while then stop. But it really does help me to put my thoughts and goals to paper. It helps me de-clutter my mind. So let’s all take time everyday for us. Even if it is just 10 mins prior to bed.

Mental focus is just as important as focusing on us physically. We all want better bodies but what about better minds? So take today and really focus. Maybe you won’t like what you see at first but it’s a step in the right direction to making yourself better and more focused. I hope you all have a great Sunday! 💕
