Still Running

I have taken a break from writing the past few weeks. Life has just been busy and honestly I just haven’t made time to write. But I am still running and marathon training is still on schedule. We are finishing up week 11! I cannot believe we are over half way done.

Last weekend we had a local 5K race we did and it really took a lot out of us before our long run the next day. But we still were able to accomplish our 16 mile run. But afterwards, both my running buddy and I had slight pains we needed to address, so after much thought we basically took this week off from running. We still did our strength training and even walked our regular routes instead of running them. But we listened to our bodies and were safe. We are much better and are hopefully ready to tackle our 18 miler tomorrow!

We had a break from the heat one weekend but we are now back to the miserable heat and humidity and it really makes a difference in how we run. So we have to keep that in mind and not be upset if our times are slower during these hot runs. We just have to remember we will be stronger for it but we have to be smart.

Hopefully I will get back to blogging regularly because I really do love it. But I will definitely keep everyone updated on our training. Time is flying by and it will be here before we know it. So I wish you all a great weekend and Happy Running!
